Limited Edition Brown Softee Faux Fur is a new addition to our Marilyn quality faux furs. As the name suggests it's the softest faux fur we've ever come across, imitating the softest Chinchilla fur, the dense fibres produce a very thick and luxurious pile. Brown in colour. A must have, if you want a super soft faux fur

The pile is approx. 2.5cm in length (approx. 1 inch) and the faux fur fabric is 150cm wide (60 inches)

"I can't believe designers still use real fur, when faux fur looks great" Eva Mendes

Our Marilyn range is the softest fur we have found and very similar to the Real Chinchilla in texture.

Did you know it takes over 200 Chinchillas to make a real Chinchilla Fur coat, selling at £3,000 - £10,000, around 80,000 chinchillas are still being farmed for fur across Europe - and many more globally.

Chinchillas originate from the Andes in South America, where their thick fur allows them to survive cold mountain temperatures. In the wild, chinchillas are now critically endangered as a result of humans hunting and trapping them for their fur. Chinchillas are quiet and shy, with a natural lifespan of 10 to 20 years.

Chinchillas are highly social, and in the wild, they live in colonies with more than 100 other individuals. They're also notable for being kind to one another. For example, if a chinchilla mum has problems producing milk to feed her babies, another female will often step in to assist, while male chinchillas will often help out with babysitting.

Product Reviews
I bought some of this in the sale to make a wrap, and the people at the company were unbelievably kind and helpful when I was struggling to choose a fur. It's absolutely gorgeous, incredibly soft, thick, warm, and a bit darker at the tips, so it looks amazing. As a disabled autistic woman who gets freezing cold even at home, and is really picky about textures, this is just what I need for staying cosy and feeling glamorous. I keep petting it happily! I lined it with dark brown velboa at their suggestion, which matches well, looks velvety, is warmer than satin, and had the right texture to stay on, with good drape for the wrap overall. The clear ridges along the back of the knitted fabric help with lining up your cut, and I cut it with scissors to make sure I didn't damage the fur. It was pretty reasonable to sew by hand, with careful marking and pinning. There was a wee strip of the fur left over, and I'm now using it to edge mittens I'm making, which are lined with the leftover velboa. The fur is actually easier to work with than the velboa, much less slippery, though of course you have to keep tucking the fibres out of the way.
